Paid course access
The curriculum is a paid product. Progress is measured in artefacts, not minutes — so there is no incentive to inflate time-on-page.
An institution's incentives are legible in how it is paid. MetaX is funded by paid course access, paid review of credential submissions, and a single below-the-fold advertising slot governed by MX-009 — and it takes no sponsorship that touches editorial content.
No vendor has ever paid for placement in a curriculum. If that ever changes, it is disclosed on the page where the placement appears — before the reader encounters it.
Each is named, so that a reader can reason about what MetaX is incentivised to do — and, more importantly, what it is not.
The curriculum is a paid product. Progress is measured in artefacts, not minutes — so there is no incentive to inflate time-on-page.
Review of a credential submission is paid work by a named reviewer. Credentials are never purchasable — you pay for the review, not the verdict.
A single below-the-fold slot per page, governed by MX-009. No interstitials, no behavioural targeting, no third-party scripts beyond the declared provider.
This is the load-bearing commitment. Advertising that pays the bills is one thing; a vendor buying its way into what a course teaches is another, and the second is refused outright.
No vendor has ever paid for curriculum placement. If a commercial relationship exists with any tool, platform or vendor named in a course, it is disclosed on that page, in body text, in the same typeface as the surrounding text, before the reader reaches the mention. Affiliate links are permitted only with inline disclosure at the link — and never in a Limits module or an Objections block. Financial arrangements involving Core Riba are refused in either direction.
One advertising slot per page, below the fold, labelled, with no interstitials, no autoplay, no third-party scripts beyond the declared provider, and no behavioural targeting.
No advertising on the verifier or any credential record.
No advertising on BCIA governance or status pages.
No advertising on the legal instruments of the estate.
None on any page reporting a defect or an audit finding — because advertising adjacent to an institution's admission of error corrupts both.
Because Core Riba is refused, MetaX permits only single payment or zero-markup split payment where the total never exceeds the single-payment price. Sponsored seats and needs-based waivers are permitted; interest-bearing instalments, financing partners, percentage late fees and buy-now-pay-later are forbidden.
The pricing page displays the arithmetic — both totals side by side, so the reader can subtract rather than trust. That displayed equality is the compliance evidence.
Stated plainly, and not dropped: the author is not a lawyer, a financial adviser, or a scholar of Islamic finance. The structural rule is clear, but before launch the Riba structure is reviewed by someone qualified in each of those three domains — tracked as a launch blocker, not treated as settled.
